Why you should definitely do
Oklahoma Golden Hour Portraits
I mean, let's face it... Every girl at least at some point in their life has dreamt of a fairytale wedding. But the new Golden Hour trend that has been taking every Bride's breath is really something to boast about! Whether you're having a giant ceremony, something simple and quaint, or you're literally running off into the sunset with your forever, Golden Hour photos are a MUST DO!
For this shoot, it was really a special time... I had been planning their wedding with the bride and groom for nearly a year and I even remember talking about Golden Hour Photos with them at their Engagement Session. This Oklahoma Bride had a few poses that we had to make sure we got and we did! One of which was this one... His hand over her heart... *CUE THE TEARS!!!* They implemented so many different personal sincere moments that nearly had me tearing up every time we spoke about wedding day.
You can literally make this time whatever you want and it works wonderfully EVERY SINGLE TIME. Do poses that make you happy! And if you book a photographer that knows what they're doing, you will get the photos you're looking for!
Sure! Get some of the trendy photos, or all of the trendy photos! Just make sure you make like Nike and just do it! It's funny when majority of your clients have all of the same mentions during the photos like "I feel like I look awkward" or "Are you sure it's going to look like I'm moving when I'm barely inching?" and "Please make us look like we know what we're doing..." I can confidently say all of those thoughts are 1000% valid, and they are 100% of the time shocked right out of their mind when they get their gallery! I mean, would you look at these photos?! The couple looks beautiful don't they? I think the Bride nearly tripped on her own feet (like I definitely would've) and the Groom didn't think he could do it. They also mentioned before their engagement shoot that they were the most awkward people in front of a camera. And they were stunned when they got their Engagement, Boudoir AND Wedding photos back! They are just good looking people!
Get. Silly. With. It.
Because if you don't... That's what we call in Oklahoma a missed opportunity! This was so funny. And it all happened in 0.2 seconds! 😂 I'm the kind of photographer that will literally gasp, giggle and cry at your wedding. And this moment had me cracking up!!! And the Bride too, if you can't tell lol! They are silly and fun people and when I get those kind of clients, I feel blessed beyond measure! Because 9/10, that ends up developing into a friendship, much like this has.
Now this photo right here... Not only was it my favorite of the shoot, but it could possibly be one of my favorite photos I have ever taken... And I promise I'm not exaggerating. The details in her dress she custom put together, her beautiful wedding ring with her wedding band that was brand new to her finger just a couple hours early, the bracelet that her husband had sent to the cabin she was getting in so she could open a gift from him on their wedding day, the soft and warm sunlight barely peeking up over the horizon but boldly soaking through her dress... Pure magic... And I was there to get this photo at that moment in time for them to have and cherish forever... There's literally nothing better. I love my job so much...
All of this to say... Make sure your photographer knows your expectations... Make sure they know that you need to get golden hour photos done, especially if you're able to utilize the Gorgeous Oklahoma Skies! And make sure you don't skip this part! They loved getting to break away from the reception for 30-45 minutes to make sure we got these precious moments between the two of them! And they got to soak up more than just the sun: all kinds of lovin'!
Cheers to you and your forever! And if you're looking for an Oklahoma Wedding Photographer that will exceed your expectations, I'd love to chat!
Love, Kayla Bartek
